Haitit Relief Fund

The CAP Foundation Haiti Relief Fund has requested that NSH join forces in order to re-establish laboratory services, humanitarian aid, and medical support during Haiti’s moment of crisis and beyond.

The devastation and suffering in Haiti is overwhelming. As individuals, few of us will ever be capable of providing assistance to those in Haiti other than to partner with others like the CAP Foundation to make a difference.

There are so many incredible aid organizations that are working tirelessly to support the victims, provide medical care, and the basic needs for life.
We applaud these organizations and encourage you to support the first-responders who are in Haiti now. We also know that there will be a long recovery and rebuilding period ahead. And, as we have learned through the CAP Foundation Humanitarian Fellows who have done work in Haiti, laboratory services in the country were rudimentary, at best, before the disaster. We suspect that re-establishing laboratory services will be a large and un-met need in Haiti, especially given the magnitude of the health care needs that are anticipated.

The CAP Foundation has started a Haiti Relief Fund to assist in the recovery, with a particular focus on laboratory medicine and pathology needs.

We are acutely aware that there will be incredible needs, short and long term, that will require funding, supplies, and equipment, for health care and laboratory services. All funds collected for the CAP Foundation Haiti Relief Fund will go towards direct support of what is needed most, when it is needed most, focusing on re-establishing critical laboratory medicine services and medical support for the victims of this disaster.

To help the CAP foundation provide support to the impoverished nation of Haiti, use the following link and be sure to indicate Haiti Relief in the drop down box:

Thank you in advance for your attention to this message.
Sincerely,
Carrie Diamond
Executive Director on behalf of the NSH Board of Directors
